Made my first batch of Natural Laundry Detergent & Fabric Softener today, and after just hanging out the first load of washing, I have to say it's awesome! The washing is soft and clean, smells amazing too!
I used two recipes that I found on Pinterest (I'll pop those links at the bottom of this post), and added my own scent using Doterra's Lavender and Lemon Essential Oils. It's easy to do and isn't laden with chemicals.
The recipes make quite a large quantity, but it's easy to adjust. For example, the Laundry Detergent makes up 1 gallon (16 cups/4 litres), but I only had a jar big enough for 1 litre, so I just quartered the recipe :-)
* Please note these recipes are American and call for the use of baking soda, us Aussie's call it Bi-Carb Soda its the same thing just different name. Castile Soap is readily available from Health Food stores, and Washing Soda can be purchased at the supermarket, you'll have to look on the bottom shelf though, that's where they keep the good stuff :-)
