Everyone knows that if you want to buy Tahini from the supermarkets that it costs a small fortune and it dissappers faster then the hummus that gets made with it.

So I've put together a little video on how to make your own Tahini in a few simple steps with only 2 ingredients.

You can check out the vidoe on you tube

or keep reading :)

You will need 1 pkt or 2 cups of sesame seeds & 6 tablespoons of any vegetable oil ( I used sunflower) or a light olive oil.

Step 1. Lightly toast your sesame seeds in a pan over medium to low heat, stirring continuously, until golden brown. BE CAREFUL TO NOT LET THEM BURN!

Step 2. Set seeds aside to cool completely. Get your clean, dry, sterilised jars ready.

* I used my old Tahini Jars from the supermarket - I love to recycle!

Step 3. Add cooled sesame seeds to food processor and process until your seeds look all crumbly.

Step 4. Add your vegetable oil 1 tbsp at a time until mixed in. Repeat with other 5 tbsps of oil.

* I used 6 tbsps of oil but you can change the amount to suit your needs.

Step 5. Transfer your Tahini into your clean jars, seal tightly. Your Tahini will keep for up to a month...if it lasts that long! I know mine doesn't!

Enjoy!
